ABOUT

The Canton Wrestling Program was first established in the 1992-1993 season as a club sport which was founded by Hall of Fame coach Tom Bartosek. The team two years later earned Varsity status and began competing in the Hockomock League where we currently compete today.

Over the years there have been many great teams and wrestlers associated with this program including the 2001-2002 Team which went 16-5 the most wins in program history, the 2009-2010 team which took home 2nd place finishes in both the Sectional Individual and Dual Meet Tournament Championships as well as the 2013-2014 Team that finished 3rd in Division III State Championships.

Our coaching philosophy is to have all student athletes acheive maximum success in the sport and academically through lessons in perserverance, work ethic, discipline and sportsmanship. These are the qualities that will guide young men and women to accomplish their goals well beyond high school, which is why we run our program accordingly.

Finally, the greatest aspect of our program is that truly anyone can participate and no prior experience is needed. There are three guiding values that all Canton Wrestlers must have to be a part of the team.

1) Put in all of your effort all the time.

2) Do not let anyone else outwork you.

3) Always understand that everytime you get on the mat, you will leave a better wrestler.
